So has anybody else been having issues with Blogger this weekend? It has given me so many problems; it's driving me nuts! So after several attempts last night and today to load pictures unsuccessfully, I finally was able to get them loaded--but ONLY by doing them one at a time. So FINALLY, here is my post I started last night:
I just realized that I never blogged about our trip to Dallas end of January! We all got sick, and it kind of got pushed off until I remembered about it just now. Anyway...
The last weekend in January we drove to Dallas to meet up with my trainer from my mission, Sister Heather Giblin (then). She and her husband and kids live in Arkansas now, so we met in the middle at the Dallas Temple. What an awesome place to have a reunion! (The only place that would have been better would have been the Houston Temple, since we served in Houston!) And what a special opportunity to be able to meet up with her! We had a very nice session and a fun visit after for lunch before they had to head back to get their kids.
Friday night we arrived in Dallas after a 6-hour or so drive. Saturday morning my sweet hubby dropped me off, then went back to the hotel with the kids and waited until it was time to come get me, then waited outside with our kids until we came out--all so that I could attend the temple with my companion.
It was my first time going to the Dallas temple, which made that neat too. It was also Heather's birthday, so that was fun to be able to celebrate with her. We told the waiter at the restaurant, and they surprised her with dessert since she didn't know we'd said anything. One thing I really regretted was that I had intended on taking some pictures with her, and in all the hurry because of them having a long drive ahead of them and us just trying to fit in as much talking as possible in the short time we had, I completely forgot about pictures. Fortunately, Jeremy got a few quick shots of us outside the temple, but we didn't get any really nice ones. Well, anyway, here are a couple with (from L to R) me, Matthew, Dale (Heather's hubby), and Heather:
We were fortunate to have some Marriott points to use, so we got 2 nights at a Marriott for only $12, and that included a really nice breakfast too, so I'd say we came out ahead on the hotel stay. We wanted to do something else in Dallas, which is why we stayed the second night, but by the time we were able to get out of the hotel again, most things were closed already that were special "Dallas" things, or they were too far from where we were at to have the time to go there. So, we ended up going...
OK, just kidding. As you can see, we actually went
Miniature Golfing!

I'm glad you are creating memories for your kids. That is important. I keep telling Cory we need to do something like that. We need to go on a vacation somewhere. We'll see if it happens. How neat to meet up with your companion. There are not many I keep in touch with anymore, but the ones I do keep in touch with, it's really neat to get together with them. I have a great bond with them.
Just clicking the box
You should've come and seen us. we are just short of an hour North of the Dallas Temple. It would have been cool to see you and meet your family. If you are ever in the area again, let us know.
Tara,
We were actually going to try to see you guys, but that was the weekend you took Nathan to CA. I thought of trying to hook up with Charlie and your other kids, but I was afraid it would seem a little awkward for him with you being gone and that he had his hands a little too full already to add guests into the picture. I was actually bummed when I read your post that you'd be gone, but it all worked out. For sure, if we are that way again, we'll call you beforehand to plan to see you.
Same goes to you if you are ever out our way--like if you ever drive to CA and are passing through or whatever. :-)
Maybe I should just be emailing you this comment so I don't seem so dumb, but is there a way to add more than one picture at a time to a post? I always thought you could only one at a time but your post suggests otherwise. What am I missing?
Yes, Bon, there is. If you notice, where you add a picture and it says "Browse," right above the white box it says in small print "Add another picture" in a link. If you click on that, it will bring up another white box with "Browse" next to it. You can do up to 5 at a time, usually--as long as it isn't having stupid issues like it was this time. It always puts them all at the beginning of the post though, and you have to drag them and move them, which can get a little annoying. If I think ahead, I'll add the pics first in the order I want them, then I'll add the writing after so that I don't have to move the pics. Sometimes I don't think of the pics until I get going already though. Anyway, it takes a little longer to upload 5, but it's a little faster than to do each one individually.
Good luck! Glad I could help! :-)
Sounds like a fun trip. We just barely took our kids miniature golfing for the first time a few weeks ago. Diego talks about it cosntantly and wants to go every weekend. It's been three weekends in a row now, but that's it for a while. It's expensive!
Looks like a fun trip! I'm glad you had some fun-filled family time!
