Family Out Day!

Yesterday, instead of having Family Home Evening, we decided to have Family Out Day! :-) Since it's Spring Break, Jessica is out of school. We needed to go to Amarillo anyway, so we decided to make a family day of it. Here's a glimpse of what we did:

Unfortunately, Jacob wasn't tall enough for this ride.

Lucky Jessica got to do it twice, since Mom and Dad had to take turns to be with Jacob and Matthew.

Gatti's is a pizza buffet place in Amarillo. It's kind of like a cross between Chuck-E-Cheese and Eatza Pizza, maybe comparable to Peter Piper's Pizza, but I've never been there so I can't say for sure. Anyway... Jessica had a couple of free kids buffet coupons from school, so we only had to pay for Jeremy's and my pizza buffet... oh, yeah, and the tokens! (That's where they get you!) So we left having spent more than we had intended, but we all had a blast. Daddy won the kids some stuffed animals, and we earned a bunch of tickets to get more stuff. (At least we felt like we got something out of the money that we could take home with us, besides just the fun memories!)

I'd have to say probably the funnest thing for me there was the Bump n Fun ride with Jessie. It was fun to do it, but the best part was seeing how much fun she was having and being able to enjoy that with her, just the two of us! Just seeing her smile made me smile!

So we probably won't be going there again any time soon, but being able to have such a fun time just being together as a family was worth every penny. I even asked Jessica if it was as much fun as Disneyland, and she said yes! So there you go; we don't have to go to D-land to have just as much fun. We can go to Gatti's!

Pizza buffet lunch: $12.and something cents.

Tokens for rides and games: $$$ I don't think I dare admit!

Having a fun Family Out Day just being together as a family: PRICELESS!!! :-)

As a token of Jessica's appreciation, I am sure she will never forget this day. She will probably brag to her friends that she got to drive and crash into her parents for fun.

Priceless!

Priceless, indeed. I will have to do our Vegas post.
I'm glad you had fun.

Maybe I could have called it Family Gatti's Afternoon!

You are a much better mother than I am. I had an anxiety attack just walking into that place a couple weeks ago (my daughter chose Gatti Town for her Birthday dinner).
It was PACKED and the food was pretty yuck.
I said it was like Chuck-E-Cheese on crack. I hate Chuck-e-cheese (I call it YUCKY-Cheese) and I would choose it over GattiTown any day of the week!!!
Instead of playing games and such at Gatti town, I bribed my kids with $10 each to go shopping at Target instead.

We have Gatti's here in San Antonio too. My kids love it. They've been to a few birthday parties there.

Oh and Tami. Sorry I didn't call you tonight. Thanks for calling; it was nice to hear from you. I'm not scared to pick up the phone, btw! We got home pretty late and I didn't want to call so late. I'm flying out tomorrow. I'll give you a call when I get back next week.
Thanks.

How fun. Family Home Whole Day trumps Family Home Evening or Family Home Moment!

The girls didn't even recognize Matthew. We are requesting more of him (since he changes so quickly).

Have a great rest of the week.

I love the places where kids can be kids, and so can the adults! It looks like a ton of fun on those bumper cars! What a fun day.
