"New" Chairs; to be more exact, new seat covers!

We were waiting for Shauna to comment before telling the whole story because we wanted to see if she'd notice. Yes, the reason the "new" chairs were under $20 (actually probably closer to $15) was because the chairs themselves were not actually new....the covers were! Jeremy and I picked out some new fabric and some clear vinyl (easier cleanup with kids, and no more worry about leaking on them from diapers or potty training!!! Yea!), and we (well, mostly Jeremy) recovered the very well-loved seat cushions.

This is why we needed to redo the chairs!

In progress:

Matthew liked the "new" chair!

We really do want to thank Shauna and her family for giving us these chairs and table. They have been very nice. The covers just got quite worn out, and we decided it was time to do something about that. It didn't take too long to do either and was a lot cheaper to do than buying new chairs would have been. So thank you! Now they will last even longer! :-)

Now that's the way to do it. Who was it that said something to the effect 'something, something make-do or do without.'(I don't remember the whole quote. Maybe someone can help me with it).

"Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do. Or do without." I believe it was Pres. Kimball. I try to follow that advice, although I'm certainly not as much that way as I probably should be. It helps to have a handy husband. :-) Tami

Yaa, those babies were ready for a make over when we got them at a garage sale. I just needed some direction and a staple gun, but got neither. They look great! Enjoy.

I like the quote. Here is one I hear more often, "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle." Anyone know who says that?

Sesame Street? I don't know, but I know I've heard it a lot somewhere. SRP? Someone in AZ? Please tell us, PP! :-) Tami
