I was just reading my brother-in-law's blog, and it reminded me of an experience I once had. So I figured I'd share it here, although his is much funnier, so you should read it first.
This happened several years ago. I tried to reheat a Wendy's burger in its wrapper in the microwave once. If you recall, the wrappers have a light foil lining--foil, which should not go in the microwave. Duh, Tami. (I was just thinking of it as paper, not realizing it was actually foil.) Needless to say, it sparked and zapped, and it scared me half to death that I was going to burn the place down. (This was also at work, mind you, while working for the Dept. of Corrections in Utah.) I don't remember for sure, but it seems like it actually did catch fire momentarily, which is why it scared me so much, but it burned right out. (Don't quote me on that, though, because I don't remember for certain.) I think the microwave had issues after that, too. Anyway, I learned my lesson from that one! Word for the wise: When reheating burgers from Wendy's (or anywhere else that has foil on its wrappers), remove sandwich from wrapper prior to placing in microwave, and put it on something that is microwave-safe. Key word: microwave-safe!!! Just a thought! If you don't believe me, you could always do like Smokey and "experiment" and find out for yourself! But I wouldn't recommend it. To quote Monk, "I could be wrong, but I'm not." ;-)

I'll take your word for it.
hey, have you ever tried to microwave cats? I haven't.
Uhhh, nooo!!! Share, that sounded like a silly tired kind of comment. Random. I prefer dogs, of course. :-)
Alright, hot dogs, that is. :-)
Reminds me of the time I told Savannah she could cook her own oatmeal for 45 seconds. I was upstairs and she comes up a few minutes after asking my permission and tells me that the microwave wont stop. I RUN downstairs to find smoke and a seriously bad situation. Apparently she went for 45 minutes instead of 45 seconds. I think she finally came to get me after 5 minutes or so. The bowl was melted, the oatmeal was black and smokey, and my microwave smelled like a forest fire for months. I decided after that to supervise a little better!
What's this have to do with having a baby born in an elevator?
Dave, it has nothing to do with the elevator thing. That was the previous post. This had to do with Jeremy's brother-in-law's post about a microwave incident, which reminded me of one I had.
I'm glad to know you're actually reading these, though. :-)
I love it (not really) when i forget to take the twist ties of my food before I put it in the microwave! It really does make a little fire in there. Take my word for it!
We miss you in blogland. Come back!!! I hope you're doing okay. Love ya.
Thanks, Sharon! But I have been in Blogland! I've been making lots of comments; I just haven't come up with any clever New Year's post of my own yet! I guess it has been several days, though, hasn't it?! I'd better get on the ball! :-)
