Thanksgiving Quote of the Morning

[Enter Jessica]

Jessica came in while I was preparing the turkey to go in the oven, and the following conversation ensued:

Jessica: Oh, that's how you do it!

Mommy: Yup.

Jessica: I thought you put mashed potatoes in it.

Mommy: No. We'll have mashed potatoes with our turkey dinner, but we don't put them in the turkey.

Jessica: I don't want mashed potatoes. I don't like them.

Mommy: I don't know why not. They're just potatoes, just like French fries, and you love French fries. Mashed potatoes are really yummy.

Jessica: I wasn't made for that. I wasn't born to eat them.

[Exit Jessica determinedly]

Now that's an original excuse for not liking something, if I ever heard one! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :-)

That is so funny. I wonder what she was born to eat.

Oh, and happy thanksgiving. I hope your turkey turns out well and that Jessica likes your mashed potatoes. Maybe if you tell her they are mashed french fries, she will eat them. That means you need to burn them a bit so they have some brown pieces in them. Yum.

LOL! Funny, Wendy! :-) Actually, the mashed potatoes, to Jeremy's credit, turned out VERY, VERY GOOD this time, but too bad for Jessica, who didn't even try any. We didn't bother to put them on her plate, and she still threw a fit about the few things she did have on her plate. Who doesn't like Mom Gooch's green bean casserole? I mean really! Or stuffing??? Who doesn't like that??? Well, anyway, happy turkey day! I feel like one right now! Stuffed!!! :-)

Gobble, gobble...

How funny. My kids use the 'I'm allergic' excuse a lot.

I was fighting with them to eat Thanksgiving food too.

My sis.-in-law was telling me about someone she knew who decided her family wasn't being grateful enough before Thanksgiving. So for one entire week prior to Thanksgiving Day all their family ate was oatmeal for breakfast and beans and rice for lunch and dinner everyday. Needless to say, they were very grateful for that Thanksgiving meal. If I could stand it, maybe I ought to try that next year. :-)

Funny! I share Jessica's attitude when it comes to many things...especially housework. I definitely wasn't made or born to do that. :)
