Some more cute/funny statements from the boys!

The other day, my five-year-old said to me, "When I grow up, I'm going to have pokies just like Daddy!" (Referring to facial hair) I confirmed that he would, then he continued, "[Sister] is growing up so she can get married in the temple! Then she can marry me!" This time I did not confirm his statement and tried to clarify to him that he could not marry his sister but that yes, it is good to get married in the temple. Then I also mentioned to him that he could be a missionary when he got older, just like his cousins who are on missions and just like our missionaries in our ward here. He got really excited about that. He has been really into the whole "growing up" and "getting bigger" so that he can do _____ thing lately. It has been cute! :-)

Like the other night, we had gone in to pick something up somewhere, and he noticed that he could see above the counter, which he couldn't do before. He excitedly said, "Mommy, I can see up there! I'm growing bigger!" "Yes, you are!" :-)

Then it was also cute when the girl behind the counter was saying he was cute and asked him his name. After he told her, she repeated it back to make sure she heard right, but she shortened it (we don't use the nickname for him and have always used the full first name, but we figured when he gets older he can decide for himself if he wants to shorten it). He very adamantly corrected her and told her his name again! (So I guess he likes that just fine, it would appear!) She and I just laughed at how funny he was about it. :-)

My 2 1/2-year-old has been trying to get out of taking naps, which of course I am not letting him out of yet! The other day, he was playing with his trains when I came in the room. He just knows! "Guess what time it is!" "No nap, Mommy! I'm busy right now!" LOL! Since when does a 2-year-old say, "I'm busy right now!" anyway? I mean really! Hmmmm, he must have heard it... somewhere... too frequently... I guess I need to stop being "busy right now" so often, eh?! They sure do know how to make you think sometimes. He still had to take the nap, though! ;-)

You kids really are growing up. Way too fast. What cuties. My twins are no longer taking naps. I'm still not so sure about it, because they are getting really ornery by the end of the day, but they go to bed so much earlier, now.

When they started wanting to give up nap time, it was hard to let go, but then I got to put them to bed MUCH earlier in the evening.
