"I Matthew!"

I just thought I'd post some cute/funny things Matthew has said and done lately.

He has been very particular to make a point of who he is... even to the point that he is partly wrong. I've called him Pumpkin, and he'll say, "I not Punkin, I Matthew." So we've kind of played around with it to see if he'll say that to certain things. This morning, I asked him if he was poopy. Of course, he responded, "I not poopy, I Matthew." After I checked his diaper, he did admit that he was "stinky"--that must be different than poopy, I guess! ;-) Well, the other day, Jeremy called him by his first and last name. He said, "I not Matthew ___, I Matthew." Then he called him by his full name, and of course he adamantly denied it in the usual way. We tried to convince him that he really was, but he absolutely refused to accept that! So funny! Someday hopefully he will learn, but for now I guess he's just going to say, "I Matthew!" :-)

Last Saturday evening while I was watching the BYU football game out at my hubby's office, I was sitting in a leather chair that had high arms and a low back so it was even all the way around. Matthew was walking around the chair and me, rubbing his hand along the chair all the way around. Well, he figured out when he touched my knee on his way around the front of the chair that it shocked me (and probably him, too, in the process). It became a game to him. He would go around the chair, touch my knee, "ZAP!" and just stand there giggling and laughing for a moment, then he would do it all over again. He thought it was the funniest thing. I don't even know how many times he repeated this before I finally got tired of getting zapped and told him it was time to stop. He's too smart for his own good, that clever, little stinker! LOL! :-)

Sometimes I look at him and can't help but think to myself, "He is just so darn cute!!!" I can't believe how big he is getting either! Gotta love him! :-)
