New adventures.

Well my new adventure this week went something like this. Sunday night I didn't get a very goodnight sleep, because I was nervous about making sure I got up at 4:15 am. 4:00 am I get up and get ready for the day. 5:00 am co-worker picks me up and we drive to Amarillo for a flight out to FL. on Southwest. 3:30 pm we land in FL. We get a rent car and drive 2 hrs to Savannah GA and spend the night there. 6:00 am one Tue. a friend picks us up and we drive about to South Carolina to pick up a helicopter that our boss had just bought.

We fly with the pilot of the helicopter just so that my co-worker can get a fill for this particular kind. 11:00 am we finally start on our long trip back to Dallas.

We made a fuel stop in Columbus, GA. We left there just a few min. before a big storm passed by. In fact we had to deviate a little and pass in between some smaller storms.

Our second fuel stop was in Jackson, Mississippi. My co-worker let me fly some of each flight.

Our third fuel stop was in Longview, TX. At this stop we were getting tired and we only had one more hr to Dallas. So we looked at the weather and decided to make that last flight to Dallas. 9:00 pm on Tue. we finally made it in to Dallas. In Dallas we looked back at the weather along our flight path and there were major storms all along most of out path. We were very blessed to have a open path all the way to Dallas. We had hurricane Dolly on the south of us moving north west bound, and a huge storm system to the North of us that was moving south east bound. Each flight was a little over 2 hrs.

Wed. we drove 6 hrs home.

Thur. we flew our Boss to Dallas and then hopped on a commercial flight home.

The rest of the week I got to spend at home. :-)

Wow! So you got to fly a helicopter. How does that compare to an airplane, or does it even compare at all? Glad you made it home safe and didn't get caught in those storms.

So glad you were able to avoid any bad storms and that you are safe! The most important and awesome part is that you got to spend some great time with your family! :)

Wow! Comments from Wendy! That means you're alive! Phew! I was worried! ;-)

So have you arrived in CS yet? Or are you at a resting point? :-) Nice to hear from you! I didn't know whether Jeremy was going to survive on Sunday not being able to wake you up from a nap! ;-)

Sounds like you are living your dreams- Pretty amazing when you consider how many people dreamed of doing what you are doing, but never made it. I guess you are one of the few who actually loves going to work! (I assume you do, anyway...)

How come you guys didn't warn us about the attacking cockroaches here in Mesa? Seriously nasty! Check out my blog.

Congrats on the helicopter flight! That's awesome!
