I was just getting Jessica in bed, and I was asking her some Brain Quest questions. One of them said, "The moon gives off its own light. True or false?" Jessica said it was false, so I asked her why. I asked her where it gets its light from. She responded, "From God." I explained to her that it reflects the light from the sun, but I also told her she was right that it does come from God, too. She may not have given the scientific answer, but it was true and profound for a six-year-old, nonetheless. :-)
She also knew that a skunk is not a bird because she "never saw a skunk fly in 'Bambi.' " She said that would be silly if she ever saw a skunk fly in a movie. :-)
Deep thoughts, by Jessica... :-)
MAKE SURE YOU READ JEREMY'S POST BELOW, TOO. IT SAYS THURSDAY, BUT IT WAS REALLY POSTED TODAY. HE JUST STARTED IT ON THURSDAY. THANKS! ENJOY! :-)

Maybe not scientific, but still profound!

That is too cute! You are right Jessica. The moon does get its light from a greater source. That is a great analogy in and of its self.
Jessica, isn't that awesome to know that God gave us light? Your mom and dad have been teaching you right. You are so smart. Way to go.
I am so glad I will never see a flock of skunks flying across a full moon!!
You are a smart one!
Love ya.
Thanks for the bday wishes!
