I should begin by clarifying that I began this post on Matthew's birthday (Monday, May 12) at about 9:45 a.m., but his birthday is now technically over as it is 1:05 a.m. on Tuesday. So for most of you when you see this, today is now tomorrow, which means that today is really yesterday and yesterday is really the day before yesterday. Hehehehehe. How's that for confusing? So just pretend that you are reading this on Monday, May 12, 2008, and maybe you won't be so confused! ;-) Now for the post I started on his b-day:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY TO MY SWEET MATTHEW! I can't believe he's already one year old! Mother's Day yesterday had me remembering back to the last Mother's Day when I was in the hospital, having just had Matthew the day before. That Mother's Day was also the day Jeremy was offered the job here in TX. Time just really flies by. So, on that note, I thought I'd post some pictures of the past year of Matthew's life so that you can also watch him grow (only a little faster than we did)! :-)
Okay, a little added side note here. After spending a lot of time today looking at all of the absolutely adorable pictures of my sweet birthday boy, it was just impossible to narrow down to just a few pics. to show you. Soooooo, I will work on a slide show with many of the adorable pics., and I will just show you his mirthday pics. and a couple others here, if I can get blogger to work that is. :-)
(Happy belated Mother's Day to all you mommies out there, too!)
So what do y'all think? Can you see why I would have such a difficult time choosing pictures? He's just too darn cute! :-) Happy birthday, our big one-year-old boy! We love you, Matthew! :-)

Matthew, you are the cutest little 1 year old boy. I wish I could see you more. You have the sweetest, cutest smile. I just want to squeeze you and love you and kiss you. Happy Birthday to you. 1 year old. That is amazing.
We love you.
Aunt Sharon and the boys.
You guys sure have some good-looking kids. Prescious too...
Happy birthday Matthew. Thanks for sharing the fun photos!
Can't believe it has been one year since Matthew was born right before my very eyes!
The pictures are adorable and it is fun to see him grow and change, but that darn little teddy bear just seems to stay the same.
That is a great photo of your family on Mother's Day. 1000 points for all the kids looking at the camera. Frame it!
PS I am intrigued by the time stamps on the first 2 comments.
Thanks for the compliments everyone! He IS a cutie, if I do say so myself! Oh, yeah, I already did! Well, it's worth saying again! They are all cuties! You all have cute kids, too, though! It must be in the genes! :-)
What intrigues you, PiP? The fact that they were exactly 10 min. apart? Or that they both ended in a 2, and yours it turns out did as well, making your comment exactly 40 and 50 min. after theirs? Or was there something else I didn't notice? Were the time stamps inaccurate?
I was going to put a pic in there of you holding him, PiP, at the hospital, but I decided I'll put that in the slide show. If I put yours on here now, I would have had to put everyone who held him, and that brings me back to my original problem of narrowing down pics. Sooooo, you will be in the slide show, whenever I get that figured out.
Oh, and we definitely plan to frame it!!! Not only is it great they were all looking at the camera (even if they weren't all smiling), but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than going to a pro. for it. A pretty good Mother's Day present, I'd say--and inexpensive too!!! :-)
The panda bear is Matthew's mirthday animal. Jessica kindly sacrificed it for him because we had all the stuffed animals packed away already when his first mirthday arrived, so she gave it to him. It was very sweet. We had given it to her for her first birthday. Jacob's mirthday animal was a big, white bunny, and Jessica's mirthday animal was a big, stuffed dog. The idea is for the mirthday animal to stay the same so as to remain a constant while the baby grows. Anyway, it's fun to see the changes all at once like this. :-)
Happy Birthday! Amazing! I hope it was a great day. I love the family picture...that is miraculous to have everyone looking at the camera!
Happy Birthday Mathew! You are so handsome!
I love the mirthday idea (even though spell check does not recognize it :)). It really makes for a fun way to see them grow right before your eyes.
Great family picture too!
Thanks. I can't take credit for the mirthday idea, though. I got the idea from Britt. This is the first time I've put them all in one place like this, though, so that's kind of fun.
The pic. thing only took 4 tries, too. Of course, we gave up not knowing how they turned out because the kids barely made it long enough to get the fourth one, which turned out to be the best one luckily. :-)
Wow, 1 year old! I haven't even seen him in person :( What a stinkin cutie! What did he get?
Happy 1st birthday Matthew!!!
Mappy 12th Hirthday to you Matthew!
Auntie Wendearest
That is so nice that you have a picture of each month. It's nice to see them one right after the other, and he looks so big. Happy Birthday to Matthew.
Ohhhhh! Those are such sweet pictures. I'm amazed that he's as blonde as he is because in his early pictures, he is dark haired! What a cute little boy...I can't believe he's one as well! Thanks for posting those pics, it's nice to compare them and see how much he has really grown!
What a cutie! They grow so fast I can't stand it. Ike will be 1 here really soon. Hope he had a fun birthday.
