Happy Birthday Jessica

Before

After

This was Monday of last week. Jessie's been wanting her hair cut for a long time, so we told her for her birthday she could do it. Mommy got hers cut with her (after more than a year since a hair cut--and more like 2 years for Jessica), and the hair was donated to Locks of Love. She LOVES it short!!! It's a lot easier to brush her hair, too! :-) Much less of a fight. Her teacher said she seemed like a totally different kid, not just looks but behavior. She said her hair was weighing her down, maybe covering her ears so she couldn't listen. Everyone has said she looks really cute, too! So it was 9 days early, but she enjoyed her birthday present. Her other present is that she gets to have a party on Saturday. Happy Birthday, Jessica!!! :-)

My 6 year old just donated her hair too. I was going to post pictures tomorrow.
Your daughter does look extremely cute with short hair. I think it keeps them looking like little girls.

Wow. That is a lot of hair. You both look nice. She looks so cute. That is a wonderful thing to be able to donate your hair. What a great thing to teach her. It must make her feel so good. Thanks for sharing the before and after pictures.

My fave photo is Tamstar....I love your reaction photo.

No...really...you both look nice with shorter hair. Jessica looks so much older.

I am sure some girl will be tickled pink with your donated hair.

What?! And all this time I thought that they made wigs with the hair! You're telling me they tickle little girls with it?! That's horrible! Torture (that's what my dad always called it anyway)! Well! I'll never donate to them again!!! ;-)

You do know that was a made-up reaction, right?! I was just having fun making it look like I was freaking out over it! Aaauuuuggghhh!!! Hey, it's kind of like the Home Alone face!

Yes, we had fun, and she loves it! I figured it would be a good thing to teach her, but I don't know that she's old enough to fully grasp it or understand what she was doing with it. I do think it made her feel good, but I still can't believe her long, pretty hair is gone, though! Good birthday, I think! She just had a party yesterday, so her birthday stretched over the course of almost 2 weeks with all the stuff she did in the name of "birthday." :-)

That is some thick hair girl! Amazing how the both of you have the same color of hair- it matches. Same color, same cut- well, almost. All you need is bangs...

Awwwwe! How cute. I don't think I could ever get my hair long enough to donate. It's a great idea and kudos to both of you for being so generous. What a great thing to do. You both look darling with short hair.
Well, I'll just drag this on for Jessica even longer. Happy happy happy late birthday, to you beautiful girl, Jessica. We love you and are proud of you for giving of yourself even when it was your birthday. You're awesome.
Love,
Sharon and the boys.

I just love the haircuts! Jessica looks so different. I always love the double takes for days after that I am always sure to make after one of my kids get their hair cut.

You girls look so cute with your hair shorter. That's so cool that you donated your hair to locks of love. That's a really neat program that helps so many people feel better about themselves...thanks to people like you. Way to go! :)
