I just have to take a moment to brag about our smart little girl! Jessica, in Kindergarten, has been learning to read. They categorize the books they read in class by difficulty using letters, starting with A. Well, by the middle of K--around now--they are supposed to be able to read A books. By this time of year in 1st grade, they are supposed to be able to read E books. Well, I guess they did some sort of testing today or something, and our little smarty, Jessica, was reading G books!!! She's the top reader in her class! I just had to brag a bit. I'm soooooo proud of her!!! Go Jessica! :-)

I just have to make an addendum to this post. I wanted Jessica to know how happy I was with her, so I had her come and read what I wrote about her. She needed a little bit of help, but she actually did quite well, especially considering some of the words were longer, harder words. She even got "difficulty" on her own. Anyway, a parent's allowed to boast once in awhile, right?! :-)
That is something to be proud of. It sounds like she will have a good start in life in school. Great job Jessica!
Must be the Gooch genes. WoW
Yeah, she must take after her aunt Sharon. Way to go Jessica. You can boast all you want, Tami.
You can blame hybrid vigor for her smarts. Anytime you cross a Jack (Jeremy) with a Thorougbred (Tami), the offspring are of superior intelligence.
That is so neat to see your child excell like that huh? She sounds like she is one smart girl!
I finally have a new blog up...you and jeremy should come check it out! :) Love ya
That is so wonderful! I love it when children first learn to read.
Heck I have an entire blog dedicated to how cool my kid is and he's only 7 months old. It's a mothers perogitive to brag about there kid especially when they as smart as your kid. Good job Jess.
Hey Jerbear! We miss hearing from you in Blog/commentland! I hope you guys made it home safely yesterday!
Wow, I thought I left a comment. I must not have published. It was great. Something about how lucky you are because teaching my first 2 to read was some form of ancient chinese torture. I don't remember it all. Too bad. I think it had a funny point.
Paul is such a dumbarse, biblically speaking. How could he call Jeremy a Jack. What a mean brother. (If you are a little confused by my comment, you might want to check out my new post. Or you might not. It is pg-13, you have been forewarned!
And good job to Jessica, and her smart parents, for doing something right. I would love to have your recipe...
